Doctors of BC needed a platform to organize physician societies and manage fund allocation to Specialist Service Committee (SSC) activities. The desktop web service, Facility Engagement Management System (FEMS) was developed to organize activities, manage, and distribute funds and run reports to measure funding impacts and doctor participation. DoBC also required an easy, convenient way for doctors to submit their activity participation without logging into a large desktop application.
Simplified mobile claims process increases engagement
With the creation of a convenient mobile app for the claims payment process, Doctors of BC have expanded facility engagement with an 84% claims rate for users.
To replace the existing paper-based claim submission system, where participants would submit and wait without any visibility to their claim status, Bayleaf developed a simplified mobile app in tandem with the web service. This would allow doctors to submit claims on their phone at the time and place of their convenience.
SIMPLICITY AND EASE
Because the FEMS web service allows for a complex Engagement Activity configuration at the administrative level, the mobile app can afford to have a very simple UI.
The minimal enrollment process makes it easy to onboard doctors and get them using the system. Once an administrator adds a doctor to an engagement activity, they can easily fly through the 3-step process to save a draft or submit their participation time and/or expenses. Once a claim is submitted, they can monitor their claim status within the app and review their claims history.
PAYMENT SOLUTION & INTEGRATION
To handle the payment process, Bayleaf integrated VersaPay, the electronic funds transfer payment processor into the system, allowing for EFT payments be directly deposited into physician accounts. For administrative purposes, Sage and Quick Books accounting software were also integrated into the web application.
This integration allows users to track claim payment status within the app. The payment simplification assures doctors their contributions are recognized, facilitating continued facility engagement.
